Komba is a platform for shift jobs through which people who want to be independent and flexibly work shifts (Kombers), can find shifts in the field of hospitality, trade, logistics, promotion and at events, whenever they want.
Komba offers to Kombers:
If you work through Komba platform, you are a Komber.
When you work as a Komber, you work for yourself and have the flexibility and freedom to choose when and where you work. You can choose shifts in hospitality, retail, promotion, logistics, or at events, at times that suit you.
You manage your engagements and receive payment for your shifts through your Obrt (or d.o.o.) as an independent contractor or through Komba’s partners – all facilitated through the Komba platform.
Kombers can be all working-age people, over 18 years old, regardless of professional education and employment, who need a short-term professional engagement.
Employment agencies offer contracts with a fixed monthly salary and fixed working hours. Some agencies also charge a commission from your salary.
Other digital platforms, such as Glovo and Uber, offer shift-based delivery and transportation jobs and take a commission from your earnings.
Komba offers you shifts in different industries, working hours of your choice, the possibility to choose or negotiate compensation for shifts yourself, and within only 14 days it pays the amount agreed between you and the company offering the shift. Komba collects its commission from the company who offers the shift.
In general, experience is not required to start working as a Komber. Feel free to apply for shifts without prior work experience.
If you have relevant skills, include them in your profile. This will make your profile more attractive to potential clients. Check the FAQ section for examples of how to present yourself effectively to companies.
Komba does not verify your work experience, but clients will have expectations based on the experience listed in your profile, which can ultimately affect your rating.
As with many things in life, honesty is the best policy 🙂
Working through your own Obrt (or d.o.o.) offers you independence and authonomy in choosing your shifts. You choose the shifts you want and when you want, and you receive payment through your Obrt. In addition, working through your own Obrt results in higher earnings compared to working through a Partner, because duties and taxes in case of Obrt are lower compared to working through a Partner who is an intermediary between you and Komba.
Partners, as intermediaries, assist with engagements and payment, especially for Kombers who are non-EU residents or students, but they can also help you if you don’t want to set up your own business.
Very simple.
Provided that you have no restrictions on conducting business, such as a final court ruling, a penalty decision, or a decision from the Croatian Court of Honor, you need two things to prepare:
1. DOCUMENTATION
You will need to prepare a document proving your right to use the space at the address where your Obrt will be registered (ownership, lease, or owner’s consent). This could be, for example, your apartment or an apartment belonging to the owner where you live, with their consent.
2. REGISTERED ACTIVITIES
You will need to select the activities you want to register for your Obrt.
We recommend that your Obrt is registered for the activities that you want to do through Komba.
If you are not sure which activities you need to register, check here.
This is important for you, so that your Obrt works according to the law.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to remember this; Komba will guide you through both steps in the app.
Once you prepare this, we will connect you directly to the Obrt registration page where everything is straightforward; you fill out the application in 5-10 minutes and wait 2-3 days for your Obrt license, enter it into Komba and start looking for the shifts you want.
A partner is a company that can help you manage your shifts and payments through a special account within Komba.
For a couple of days, while you wait for Obrt to be set up, you can browse Komba and save shifts you like.
Unfortunately no, you can not work without Obrt or Partners.
Download Komba app and follow the steps.
To create an account in Komba, you will need:
If you wish to work in hospitality, you can also upload the ‘Sanitary certificate’ and keep it in the app so that it is always close if you need it.
Here are few tips:
In your profile dashboard you can always find:
You can find the shift offer in the bottom menu of your profile, under the option ‘Explore’
Open a posting for the shift you are interested in and check shift description and all the details such as necessary skills, special requirements and the offered rate for the shift. If everything is checked, select ‘SIGN UP’. You can negotiate for a higher shift rate than the one offered.
You can apply to as many shifts as you like, but as soon as your first application is accepted, the rest will be canceled.
No, number of people which applied for the shift is visible only to company which published that shift.
You can. In the filter, you can choose from which cities or counties you want to receive shift offers. You can always change your selection
There are no restrictions for Obrt but working with partner is defined by a contract between you and the partner
We believe that this will not happen, but if it does, contact Komba support and we’ll sort it out quickly.
You can apply for shifts even if there is an active complaint on your shift. Komba will do its best to solve it as soon as possible.
You are but do it within the deadline that the company stated in the posted shift.
If the deadline specified by the company for canceling the shift has passed, you cannot cancel the shift.
The shift is still on your name, but it becomes available for others to apply for it. If no one else applies for a shift, you will have to work the shift or you will have to pay compensation for the shift you missed.
For each missed shift, 70 euros will be taken from your next shift or you will be billed for the same amount. After a few missed shifts, unfortunately, you will no longer be able to use Komba.
You can “return” the shift among the available shifts and arrange for someone to take it over.
After you finish the shift, the company will review your skills that were needed for the shift, punctuality and whether the requirements stated by the company in the published shift have been met.
You cannot delete ratings. You can check what you need to work on to make the next ones better. Ratings encourage competition between Kombers.
The company will state the reason for the complaint and the option of how it wants to resolve the complaint. Read and decide if you want to accept. If you do not accept, Komba support will further resolve the complaint. Keep in mind that complaints are made only in case of breach of contract, so check the contract in Terms&Conditions carefully.
You can open a complaint on the company through Komba’s customer support.
